Ashley & Quinn - A Modern Red-Inspired Celebration with Chinese Cultural Elements

On November 28, I had the privilege of photographing Ashley and Quinn’s intimate luxury wedding in New York City, hosted at the iconic The Fifth Avenue Hotel. Set in the heart of Manhattan, this celebration was a beautiful example of how modern elegance and cultural heritage can exist in perfect harmony.

Designed with intention and emotion, the wedding embraced red-based decor inspired by Chinese culture, reimagined through a modern, minimalist lens. Rather than leaning into traditional motifs, the design focused on atmosphere—deep red tones, refined textures, and a strong visual identity that felt both contemporary and symbolic.

This approach created a setting that felt luxurious, intimate, and deeply personal—an ideal reflection of Ashley and Quinn’s story.

Every detail of the decor was thoughtfully curated. Red, a powerful color symbolizing love, joy, and prosperity in Chinese culture, became the emotional thread throughout the evening. The styling felt bold yet restrained—elevated without excess.

One of the most poetic moments of the night came through live performances by two ballerinas, who moved gracefully through the space. Their presence brought a sense of softness and artistry, transforming the wedding into something more than a celebration—it felt like a living, breathing performance.

These moments added depth and rhythm to the evening, creating unforgettable visual and emotional layers for the couple and their guests.

A Bridal Look That Balanced Classic and Modern

Ashley’s bridal style was effortlessly refined. She chose a classic-modern wedding dress, soft in silhouette and timeless in spirit. The gown complemented the overall aesthetic perfectly—elegant without being overstated, modern yet romantic.

It was a look that felt natural, confident, and deeply aligned with the tone of the day.

After-Party at Casa Cruz : A Bold Celebration in Red

As the celebration continued, we moved to Casa Cruz for the after-party—where the energy shifted into something vibrant and unforgettable.

The evening featured traditional Chinese lion dancers, filling the space with movement, sound, and symbolic power. It was cinematic, joyful, and emotionally charged—a striking contrast to the refined calm of the ceremony.

Ashley changed into a stunning red dress, a bold and beautiful choice that perfectly matched the spirit of the night. The color red once again became central—not just visually, but emotionally—representing celebration, passion, and transition.

A Truly Intimate New York Wedding Experience

Ashley and Quinn’s wedding was not about size or spectacle. It was about meaning, culture, and connection. Every decision—from venue to design, fashion to performance—felt intentional and deeply personal.

As a luxury wedding photographer in New York, these are the weddings that inspire me most: intimate celebrations where emotion leads, culture is honored, and beauty unfolds naturally.

This was a wedding that didn’t try to impress—

yet it left a lasting impression.
